In the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, there is high turnout of voters to exercise their franchise and to elect Nigeria President, senators and federal house of representative members.
Of particular note is the turnout of pregnant women, nursing mothers, persons with disabilities.
Polling centres visited by INCLUSION Magazine in Buwari, AMAC and Kuje Area Councils, we observed that the turnout of these groups was impressive.
Also of note is the priority voting opportunity given to the venerable groups, women and PWDs.
A voter, who identified herself as Mummy Goodluck, said the civil way she was attended to by the electoral officers impress her so much, “I never know that INEC has really trained and empowered their staff”.
Party Agents interviewed expressed satisfaction over the overall conduct of the poll.
In one polling centre in Buhari Area Council, a person with Albinism was seen on queue. When our reporter asks why he didn’t take the priority voting opportunity, he said he is with his friends and wants to join the process with everyone.
Although, there are polling centres with very many voters waiting to exercise their franchise, the atmosphere in all location visited was peaceful.
As at the time of filling this report, the rain didn’t deter voters in Mpape and Katampe who are determined to cast their vote by all means.
