The Officer in Charge of the West African Examination Council, Ikorodu Office, Avong Mathias, has harped on the need to promote inclusiveness in the conducts of the sub-regional exam.
He made the call amid the lingering calls for fairness to students with disabilities.
Speaking at a WAEC Briefing held at the Apostolic Grammar School, Ketu, Lagos on Tuesday, Mathias informed the principals and directors of private schools to consider students with disabilities as stipulated by the body, especially by allowing them to spend more time where need be.
Mathias and other WAEC officials at the seminar warned the school representatives against examination malpractice as a form of corruption “carried out on account of friendliness and relationship.”
Responding to a question on examination inadequacies, the officer decried Nigeria’s heterogeneity while pledging to address issues within his capacity.
