Barr. Catherine Edeh, Executive Director, Voice of Disability Initiative (VDI), has called for the prioritization of interventions targeting women and girls with disabilities who suffer discrimination on the grounds of being women as well as being a person with disabilities.

She made the call during the celebration of the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Abuja organised by the Federal Ministry of Health.

Barr. Edeh in expressing her appreciation to all stakeholders present, she especially thanked the Federal Ministry of Health for the partnership opportunity availed VDI to participate in the review of the National Policy of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights for Persons with Disabilities.

The Executive Director underscored that prioritization of interventions targeting women and girls with disabilities who suffer discrimination on the grounds of being women as well as being a person with disabilities, will go a long way in building an inclusive society and make healthcare accessible to all without discrimination.
