The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Thursday, revealed that it arrested a total of 3,549 drug traffickers in the first quarter of 2022.

The agency said it intercepted a total of 65.916kg of illicit drugs within the same period.

This is even as the Nigerian Navy (NN), yesterday, handed over two Epenal patrol boats and training equipment to NDLEA to ensure effective patrol of the nation’s waterways.

Recall that the narcotics agency arrested 12,300 drug suspects, including seven barons, in 2021 and 1,400 of them are serving various jail terms in different correction centres across the country.
