The Executive Director, Cedar Seed Foundation and President, Network for Disabled Women, Lois Auta-Udonkanta has condemned the recent attacks on Kagoro chiefdom in Kaura Local Government.

Lois expressed her deep shock in a statement released on Saturday after receiving the ugly news of the unfortunate killings at Government College Kagoro axis by unidentified gunmen on Friday.

Local sources reported that some eleven people were killed and over three persons injured. According to the sources, six persons were confirmed dead, four more people were discovered Saturday morning, with one of the injured persons eventually giving up the ghost

It could be recalled that on the 31st of January, several houses were burnt and four people killed in Tsonje Kukum District of Kagoro by yet to be identified gunmen. Their barbaric acts have rendered many homeless and hopeless – especially women and children.

It is on account of these dastardly acts that Auta-Udonkanta condemned the killings in strong terms while calling on the government to rise to the occasion by fulfilling its responsibility to protect the lives and properties of the citizenry.

According to Lois, “securing the lives and properties of citizens remains the topmost job of any government.”

“I wish to commiserate with the families of the affected victims, the people of Kagoro chiefdom, and the entire people of Kaura Local Government over the loss of their beloved ones.” She said.
