Dr. James David Lalu, the Executive Secretary National Commission for Persons with Disabilities has said that the Commission will work with Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) in making sure that Persons with Disabilities reach their potentials in their pursuit of tertiary education.

Lalu who made this disclosure recently in Abuja, commended JAMD Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede for being a front runner in the quest for a better life for Persons with Disabilities.

The ES further revealed that there is the need to develop an all- round curriculum on Disabilities for total inclusivity for accessibility compliance and that Students with Disabilities should be mentored into creativity for inventions that will drive progress and development in the society in different aspects of life.

Conversely, it must be recalled that JAMB has announced that individuals with disabilities intending to take the 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination can register without any fees.

The JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this while rolling out the registration process for interested candidates across the country.

That JAMB will issue free application documents to all categories of Persons with Disability as a form of support..

According to the Registrar, measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth exercise for all candidates as audio books will now be provided for all blind candidates.

This involves the digital transformation of conventional reading materials. The adapted content will be available in widely-used audio formats like MP3, WMV, and WMA. This will ensure compatibility with all devices capable of streaming audio records.

In addition, the examination body states that individuals with conditions such as Down syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia disorder, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder will also enjoy free registration benefits.
