The Blacks Ancestral Native Communities (BANC) Foundation has announced an ambitious plan to launch a comprehensive action initiative aimed at addressing the growing challenge of irregular migration impacting Nigeria and other African nations.
Dr. Chibuzor Onyema, President and Chief Executive Officer of the BANC Foundation, revealed in a statement at the weekend that the alarming rise in irregular migration will be the central focus of the action plan.
The plan will be formally unveiled during the Anti-Irregular Migration Summit (AiMS), scheduled to take place in Abuja this September.
With the theme, “The Japa Conundrum: Comprehensive Strategies for Addressing the Irregular Migration Crisis,” the summit aims to bring together a diverse array of stakeholders. Attendees will include government representatives, youth leaders, international organizations, NGOs, researchers, and community leaders, all working collaboratively to develop actionable strategies to combat the growing issue of irregular migration.
“The event aims to foster international cooperation, formulate robust policies, and promote sustainable development to address the root causes of migration,” the statement emphasised.
