Yobe state Governor and Chairman, APC Caretaker Extraordinary Conventions Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has assured his administration support for data collection of Persons with Disabilities in the state.

A statement by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General Press Affairs and Media to the Governor.  Buni gave the assurance when he was presented with a letter from the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), by the state coordinator, Comrade Mohammed Abba Isa.

The governor said his administration is committed to supporting the Commission on the exercise, urging member to participate actively for better result.

“you are advised to cooperate, support and take advantage of this exercise to ensure its success in the state. This is an opportunity for you to benefit from the federal government palliatives which you should make good use of in the interest of all members” the governor said.

Earlier Comrade Mohammed Abba Isa said the NCPWD would commence the data collection exercise soon in all the 17 local government areas of the state.

He said the exercise is to capture the data of PWD in the state for them to benefit from the COVID-19 palliatives of the Federal Government and other subsequent supports from both the federal government and state. He said the data collected would form a database for use in distribution of palliatives now and in the future.

“When completed, only those who are captured will be considered in the distribution of support from the state and federal government. This exercise is therefore necessary and crucial to all our members” Isa emphasized
