The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), Dr. James Lalu on Tuesday, 12th December, 2023 led a crowd of persons with disabilities on the streets of Abuja to create awareness on disability and inclusion.
This was organized as part of the program lined up for the commemoration of the United Nations’ International Day of Persons With Disabilities in Nigeria.
The road walk saw all clusters of PWDs line up the streets of Abuja with various slogans and advertorials.
The Amiable, energetic and charismatic James Lalu was seen walking for long distances and personally engaging road users and motorist. He personally hands out flyers and engage people with the message of inclusion.
3rd December annually is set aside to marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day is used to advocate for rights, foster understanding, and promote inclusive actions for people with disabilities.
The theme for this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities, “United Action to Rescue and Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for, with, and by Persons with Disabilities,”
