There was a tongue-tied silence at Plateau House Abuja on Friday, 9th July, 2021 as the sad news of the demise of Abdulallahi Adamu, three others arrived NCPWD.

Abdullahi Adamu who was before his death the Chairman Sokoto State Association of the Deaf alongside two other members of the Association Aliyu Gobir, Umar Mai’akwai and the Driver of the Special school Sokoto died in a ghastly auto accident which occurred along Sayinna while they were travelling to Argungu town of Kebbi State for the wedding of their member.

The Executive Secretary National Commission for Persons with Disabilities Mr James David Lalu who was visibly affected by the heart-rending occurrence sent his earnest condolences to their families, Deaf Association and Sokoto State Government.

While expressing his grief in his office on Friday, Lalu reiterated the inevitability of death and advised that every human should be prepared and sustain faith in God as bereavement might occur at the most unforeseen moment of our existence.

“This is a very sad moment in our lives, I feel most concerned about their families, especially their young widows and the little children left behind. But in all moments, poignant or joy, we must not lose faith in God as He is omniscient” he said.

The ES used the occasion to commiserate with the families of the other two members of the Deaf community who died recently as a result of ill health; Ronald Magaji from Taraba State and Yakubu Dogara of Kaduna State.
