Today in Abuja, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Chief Ayuba Gufwan received in audience the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal opportunities, Hon Abba Issa.

While addressing the delegation, the ES expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the passion demonstrated towards uplifting persons with disabilities out of poverty and deprivations through the Commission.

According to him, the years of clamour for intervention into disability matters has gained considerable attention.

“NCPWD is a prayer answered and we must do everything humanly possible to sustain the inclusivity that we now enjoy from the Presidency as now is the moment of Renewed Hope for Persons with Disabilities” he said. 

The ES however, mentioned that opportunities abound for Persons With Disabilities but it takes all hands to be on deck to attain the enviable heights that the community aspires to.

He further stated that his appointment as the Executive Secretary of the Commission is an added assurance by Mr.  President to the community of persons with disabilities that their well-being is guaranteed.

In his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal opportunities,  Hon. Abba Isa congratulated the ES upon his appointment and seized the occasion to inform the meeting of the need to work closely with the Commission to achieve meaningful productivity from the generality of persons with disabilities.

Also present at the meeting were the Director, Human resource Management NCPWD, Mrs AA Oguntade, and the Chief of Staff to the SSA to President, Barrister Yusuf Iyodo.
