The Founder/CEO, TAF Africa, Amb. Jake Epelle has called on the president elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are given prominent positions in both the federal and state levels.

Amb. Epelle made this demand during a TVC live program, Politic Tonight.

Jake said “The president elect, should stays true to his word, Unity means bringing together those who have been further left behind. Unity means everyone is allowed to come to the table. I think persons with disabilities, the women and youth in this country have been left behind in several governments and administrations.

“If truly the president elect want to promote justice and equity, this is the time for him to make himself the champion of the downtrodden. And those downtrodden fits in within the disability community.

“Persons with disabilities in the next cabinet must seat with the president. We are tired of been offered Special Assistants and other minor positions. This time around, we want to be at the Federal Executive Council and State Executive Council.

“The president Elect should appoint at least one minister into his cabinet. And several commissioners across the sub-national levels. This is what will make this government truly inclusive.

“Women must be given the opportunity to serve. The youths must also be given the opportunity to serve too.

“An inclusive government is a government of all persons who have the competence and capacity to serve, and the community of PWDs have several persons who are over-qualified and competent for the positions that we are advocating for.

“At TAF Africa, we rolled out a program “Able-to-Serve”. The program is a bold statement and am adding my voice it. To the president elect; we have come of age, even though we have disability, we are not disabled in our mind. We are not disabled in our capacity, in our competencies. We can serve and contribute to national development.”

Amb. Epelle spoke on various other issues ranging from security, unity of Nigeria, economy, assembly leadership tussle and many other topics.

On the issue of unity, Jake stated that the unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable and advised all parties to employ the constitutional approved approach on addressing grievances.

He further advice Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to constitute a government where all parties are welcomed to the decision table for robust policies that will move the nation forward.
