The Former Military President, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has said that the younger generations are blessed with sound education, energy, and brain to govern the country.

Babangida said this when he received, on a courtesy visit, a 40-year-old All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential aspirant Adamu Garba at his Hilltop Residence in Minna, Niger State.

While commending the bravery of the aspirant, the elder statesman said the youth have the capacity and capabilities to tackle the present challenges confronting the country and the world at large.

 “You are the guys who are going to make sure that the vision for Nigeria that our founding fathers believed is realizable, and I have always believed in our potentials,” he said.

“All you need to do now is to go out there and mobilize people of your like minds and age groups, a lot of us when we entered politics and governance, were about the same age, with vision, who will move to see Nigeria move forward.” 

Addressing the Journalists after the visit, Garba said he was in Minna to seek the blessings, guidance and support of General Ibrahim Babangida and to notify him on his intention to run for the office of the President come 2023 election. 

The aspirant said he would prioritize the country’s value of economic development other than political developments.

While emphasising that politics polarized he country and tearing its people apart, he advocated the return of economic integration of the country.

He propose for the creation of nine  geo economic zones to replace the six geopolitical zones currently in practice. 

Garba also said, if elected president, he create a national delivery unit that will be responsible for economic and political development of the country.

He said that he would bring reforms into the civil service for effective and efficient service delivery.

The Presidential aspirant said he   would create a massive infrastructure rejuvenation plan, “where we reintegrate the whole country together and try to bridge massive supply lines.”
