The Albino Foundation Holds its 3rd Quarter Board of Trustees Meeting on 14th August 2021. The meeting which was held virtually came up with some resolutions.
RESOLUTIONS REACHED AT THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE ALBINO FOUNDATION HELD VIRTUALLY ON THE 14TH OF AUGUST, 2021
a) The Board approved the change of name from “The Albino Foundation” to “The Albinism Foundation”
b) On Professor Obioma’s demise, the Board resolved to draw up a letter of condolence, pay a visit to the family of the deceased prior to the burial and also be present at the burial. The Board also spoke with the wife of the deceased on phone to discuss the burial arrangements.
c) The Board resolved that a holistic Board Policy will be developed by management.
d) The Board adopted the following policy statement for immediate application: “The board makes the resolution that staff and members of The Albino Foundation be strongly encouraged to:
1. Get fully vaccinated with government approved COVID-19 vaccine and facilities
2. Strictly observe all approved COVID-19 guidelines and protocols as will be issued from time to time by appropriate authorities
3. Adopt recommended lifestyle changes that would boost their immune system so that they can fight COVID-19 and other diseases that afflict the body
4. That the policy will be reviewed with respect to innovation and emerging issues regarding the ongoing pandemic.”
e) The Board resolved the immediate formulation of a COVID-19 policy which shall be inclusive of (d) above.
f) The Board adopted the new TAF policies (Human Resource Policy, Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct, Safeguarding Policy, Finance Policy, Procurement Policy, Gender Policy, Sexual Harassment [Prohibition] Policy) for immediate implementation and subject to review every 2 years or earlier as the need arises and as overriding issues emerge.
g) The Board resolved to hold a special meeting on Tuesday the 17th of August, 2021 to reach a decision on the proposed data mining contract award.
h) The Board approved TAF’s 2020 Annual Report.
i) The Board Resolved that a major agenda at the next meeting will be an assessment of the Foundation (financial, impact, governance, outlook, constitutional).
