Sun Smart Christmas Party For Children With Albinism

Sun smart Christmas party was held today at Nnewi University teaching hospital for Kids and teens with ALBINISM. The occasion was organised by the team of dermatologists to end the ESCAP project for persons with ALBINISM.

 Dr Mrs Enemchukwu in her talk titled “Are you a Smart kid” told the kids how best to protect their skin from the Ultra-violet rays of the Sun to avoid skin cancer. She listed the various ways one can be protected from UV rays.

 Mrs Nene Bassey, The President of the Albinism Association in Akwaibom State also did justice to the topic ” Handling Stigmatization and challenges at school. there were questions and answers sections and many parents had so many questions to ask on the ways to handle their kids and The doctor attended to all their questions.

The Chairperson Anambra State Albinism Association, Miss Vivian Ezeonwumelu crowned the event with her topic on ” Having a Good Self-esteem”.

There was a quiz section where the sun smart children were gifted sunglasses. Every child was given a round hat with sunscreen for their skin.

The Highlight of the event was the skin consultation of all the kids and teens by the team of dermatologists.
