Nigerians have been advised to stop discrimination against Persons with Disabilities.
Speaking at the 30th anniversary of the Deaf Supporters Development Initiative (DSDI), in Lagos, the President of the Association, Mr. Afolabi Dahunsi pleaded with Nigerians to stop discrimination and show love to Persons with Disabilities.
He said since 1991 when the association started till date it has been able to guide, help and nurture many poor deaf people to start small-scale businesses of their choice. DSDI has been advocating for promoting the rights of and advancing the interest of deaf persons.
He explained that the initiative provides life skills, vocational skills training for school leavers and deaf job seekers coming to their office for guidance on how best to make good use of their life as DSDI also provides counselling to the deaf community.
Chairman Lagos State Association the Deaf (LSAD), Mr. Issah Ahmadu Usman, urged members of the society to continue to support the deaf community.
