Professor Chukwuma Soludo, a front line governorship aspirant in Anambra State under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has commended the staff and appointees of the Office of the Governor on Disability Matters for projecting the interest and welfare of persons with disabilities in Anambra State.
He stated this when he and his team visited the Office of the Governor on Disability Matters.
Soludo praised Chief Dr. Willie Mmadụaburochukwu Obiano for paying prompt attention to issues of disabilities and making persons with disabilities in Anambra State feel included in all developmental strides in Anambra State.
Responding, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie expressed appreciation to Prof Soludo for identifying with persons with disabilities.
According to him the inclusive spirit and policies of Chief Willie Mmadụaburochukwu Obiano helped him gain recognition by all Ndị Anambra.
He equally called on aspirants to articulate their vision for the Disability Community and reflect same in their manifestos.
He said that Governor Willie Obiano has set a high standard in promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities in Anambra State.
The Special Adviser informed Prof Soludo that statistics has shown that Anambra State has over six hundred thousand persons with disabilities and noted that the Office of the Governor on Disability Matters and Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) Anambra State Chapter are working assiduously with INEC to quadruple the statistics of voters with disability.
Present at the occasion were Commissioner for Power and Utility, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, member representing Njikoka II Consituency in the State Assembly, Honorable Pete Ibida, among others.
