The Chief Executive Officer of The Albino Foundation (TAF) Mr Jake Epelle has described as quite commendable and intuitive, a publication titled, “Inclusion Magazine” meant to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities.
The Founder of TAF also noted that such publications were the face of development for any country as it provides a platform for people, government and the society at large to brainstorm and find a common goal to move the country forward.
Mr Jake Epelle was speaking when the management of the Inclusion Magazine led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Hussaini Abdulrahman paid him a courtesy visit to appreciate him for accepting to be on the advisory board of the magazine.
Stressing on the importance of accountability, transparency and structure in any organization, the TAF CEO noted that when an organization is well structured and managed, it encourages other stakeholders working in such fields to want to collaborate and partner with them.
“in The Albino Foundation we have done a lot of work to ensure we create awareness on the challenges we face because of our condition and set up task forces across states to educate and enlighten persons to stop discrimination and stigmatization of Albino”.
“Presently we have a handbook for children to educate them on Albinism, a National curriculum, as well as an institute where doctors can learn about albinism and teach situated at the Afe Babalola University”.
He added that he was willing to collaborate with any organization that moved for the protection and rights of persons with disabilities.
Earlier the Chief Executive Officer of Inclusion Magazine, Mr Hussaini Abdulrahman explained that the board had nominated Mr Epelle as an advisory member of the board because of his passions in advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities especially Albinos.
He added that Inclusion is a platform that will showcase all activities of persons with disabilities and cover all facets of life geared towards changing perceptions and myths of disabilities.
