NCPWD Commends Honourable Muhammad Mukhtar For Empowering Persons With Disabilities In Jigawa State

The Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Honourable Ayuba Gufwan, has commended Honourable Muhammad Mukhtar for his unwavering support for persons with disabilities in Nigeria. He stated that today’s event is a remarkable milestone in the lives of persons with disabilities (PWDs).

During his visit to Kazaure, Honourable Gufwan witnessed an empowerment programme organized by Honourable Mukhtar, where over 500 persons with disabilities received food items in preparation for the Ramadan season. Additionally, 100 persons received tricycle wheelchairs donated by the Beautiful Gate Handicap Centre, Jos. Beautiful Gate has been a remarkable organization supporting persons with disabilities by providing mobility aids and empowerment opportunities, which have been instrumental in transforming the lives of thousands of PWDs in Nigeria.

Gufwan said, “When organizations and individuals collaborate to support persons with disabilities, it helps promote inclusivity in our society.” He added that it is a significant challenge for the government to meet the needs of over 35.5 million persons with disabilities in Nigeria. Therefore, it is crucial for everyone to continue advocating for the rights and welfare of PWDs.

As a Commission, the well-being and rights of persons with disabilities are our top priority. We are committed to creating an inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities, rights, and dignity,” said Honourable Gufwan. We need dedicated individuals like Honourable Mukhtar, who are willing to support and protect the rights of persons with disabilities.”
