I am a proud person with albinism. I have many reasons to be happy because Albinism doesn’t define who I am rather it made me unique from others.
As a Child, I grew up with so much love and care from my family (both immediate and extended family members). My two other siblings with Albinism and myself NEVER got any sign of discrimination from them.
As an Adult, I saw a different world 🌎. A world where Persons with Albinism are seen as failures and weaklings.
A world where hostility to persons with albinism is seen as a normal phenomenon.
A world 🌎 where they are marginalized and bullied.
A world where you as a person with albinism is not allowed to live happily just because you have Albinism. 😭😭😭😭😭😭.
Seeing myself in this new world that seems so strange to me. I decided to make lemonade out of the lemon juice it served me.
I had to speak up and fight for my rights and that of the Persons with Albinism.
This new world🌎 was totally different from the loving world I was introduced into, which is my immediate family, but they made made me strong.
I thank God my first world, they made me survive in my second world because they gave my siblings and I the best educational background you can ask for.
This First world took us in and taught us to love and accommodate one another.
This first world 🌎 prepared me for the second world which is the society at large.
Now I am very proud to say that I am a winner in both worlds because I didn’t let the second world to define me.
Now in my present stage, I love both worlds because God created the both worlds.
MY MESSAGE:
Parents show love to your children with Albinism because that first love will take that child a long way and prepare them for the cruelty and hostility they may see in the future in the bigger society.
